Exploring Articles

Exploring Articles

On the SCiNiTO Search page, also known as faceted search, you can enter your desired keyword in the search bar. Then, you can use the detailed filters available on this page to easily narrow down your search results and focus on the articles that interest you the most.

The most relevant results will be displayed. For more details, see the "How to Search in SCiNiTO" article.

Once you have filtered your articles to suit your needs, the next step is exploring them. SCiNiTO provides you with some handy tools at the bottom of each article, such as:
  1. Bookmark: Bookmarking is a great way to save and organize your research in one convenient place. This feature is especially helpful when you need to revisit a topic or concept. You can also bookmark articles for specific projects you have created before for easy access. This will enable you to group and organize related research material in one convenient place.
  2. Link to Article: This option directs you to an external webpage housing the full article. If the article is located across multiple web pages, clicking on this option will also allow you to select the specific page you wish to view.
  3. PDF File Link: If you see this icon next to an article, it indicates that the article has a PDF version available for download. By clicking on it, you can download the PDF file and access the content offline.
  4. Three-dot icon: This option provides you with more features:
  1. Download Citations: Citations provide important details about the source material, including the author, title, publication date, and source, making it easier for you to properly credit and acknowledge the original work. The download Citations option allows you to select the file format and save the article's citations if they are available.
  2. Add Note: Adding notes to an article provides a convenient way to summarize key points, highlight significant details, and annotate important sections for future reference. By utilizing the Add Note feature, you can include personalized notes in the article. You can also assign a title to your note for easy organization and reference or even attach it to your defined projects.
  3. Search Article in Google: This feature allows you to quickly look up the title of an article on Google. By selecting this option, the search engine will automatically populate with the exact title of the article, making it easy for users to find more information or relevant sources on the topic. This feature saves time and effort as you no longer need to manually type in the article title to conduct a search on Google.
An additional feature that enhances the user experience is SCiNiTO's ability to save the 20 most recent search items, including all the detailed filter criteria used. This means every article you search for, every filter you apply, is remembered and can be accessed again with just a click. This offers a seamless way to revisit your previous searches, saving you valuable time and effort. The option titled "Search History" is accessible in the Profile section.
