Quickly Getting Started with SCiNiTO

SCiNiTO is an AI Powered Assistant providing open access and community support to improve research quality. To get started, here are some steps:
  1. Signing up for a new account
  2. Creating a project
  3. Browsing and Bookmarking Articles

Signing Up

In order to use SCiNiTO, you need to sign up for an account. Go to the register page and sign up. Once you have set up your account in SCiNiTO, you can explore the platform by navigating the Publications section. Here, you have access to a wide range of articles to use in your research as youll as managing your projects.


After you sign up and log in to your account, You might see a red band on top of the page that asks you to set your organization.  Setting your organization allows you to access all resources that have been shared with you by your colleagues or are publicly available for members of your organization.


Creating a Project

SCiNiTO gives you the ability to create your research project and bookmark related resources in it. To begin using SCiNiTO, click on Create a Project in the top navigation bar under Projects. This will open up the project creation page where you can enter essential details about your project such as the title and abstract.


For now, let’s create a new project called How Nano Technology Helps Us Stay Clean:
  1. Sign in to your account at app.scinito.ai.
  2. Navigate to the My Projects tab by clicking on the left side of the navigation bar.
  3. Click on Add Project.
  4. Enter the project title and abstract
  5. Click Save.


You have now created your research project and you can use the fantastic features of SCiNiTO. 

Browsing Articles

There are millions of articles with different types. Back to the homepage, you can search for related articles and find them by different filters.



On the left side, the visible filters are:
  1. Published Date
  2. Organization
  3. Field of Study
  4. Country
  5. Article Type
  6. Author
  7. Publisher
  8. Venue
  9. SDG
  10. Open Access Type
On the right side, you can see the search results. Each article has some information about it and a few options at the bottom:
  1. Bookmark: Add this article to the bookmark list of your project.
  2. Link to Article: Opens an external link to the page where the article is located.
  3. Add Note: Add a note to the article and assign a title to your note.
  4. Download Citations: Download citations of the article if available.
  5. Search Article in Google: Searches google for the title of the article.

Bookmarking

During your research, you may want to bookmark articles related to your project. This way you can access all of them through the project’s bookmark list.
Tip/Info (Green or Blue box): You can bookmark an article regardless of its project.



To bookmark an article, you need to:

  1. Go to the Publications tab and search for relevant articles.
  2. Once you find an article that’s related to your topic, click on the Bookmark button at the bottom of the page.
  3. Select your project name from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Save.
Now the article is saved to the project's bookmark list, and you can access it at anytime from your project page. You can also view all the bookmarked articles from the project’s `Bookmark` tab.
