How to Use the Recommendation Section for Resource Discovery

The Recommendation section is essential for improving user experience and aiding discovery. This feature provides personalized suggestions for the most relevant articles based on your interests. It not only streamlines the research process but also simplifies the exploration of various topics.

The Recommendation presents users with potential journals that have published articles in their area of interest. By utilizing Recommendation, users can save time searching for a relevant journal.

Access the Recommendation Page 

To access the recommendation page, click on the Recommendation menu at the top of the page. 

How to Get Started 

Once you're on the Recommendation page, click on the Continue button and follow these steps:
  1. Title: Enter the title of your work. Note that filling out this field is mandatory. 
  2. Abstract: In this section, provide a summary of your article. We recommend completing this field to receive more relevant results. 
  3. Filters: Select your desired filters, which are the journal quartiles, or choose the All option. 
  4. Open Access Only: You can choose to display only open-access journals or all journals. 
To get the result, click on the Get Recommendations button.

The Result Page

On this page, the recommendation results are displayed as separate cards. Each card includes the following information:
  1. Journal Title: As the name suggests, the journal title is mentioned here. Clicking on the arrow icon next to it opens a link to the journal on a separate page. Next to this icon, you will also find the journal filter.
  2. H-index: The H-index is an author-level metric that measures both the productivity and citation impact of publications.
  3. Publisher: Find the publisher's name here. Clicking on the arrow icon in this section will take you to a publisher page.
  4. Related Articles: Explore articles that are connected to your topic in this journal. Clicking on this link will take you to the relevant article on SCiNITO.
  5. SJR Rank: The journal's rank within its subject category based on the SJR score.
  6. SJR Score: The SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) indicator is measure of the scientific influence of scholary journals.
  7. Total Docs: The total number of documents published in the journal in the current year.
  8. Like and Dislike Icons: To express your satisfaction with the article's relevance to your suggested topic.
  9. Show More: This option provides additional information:
  1. SJR Information: including rank and type.
  2. OpenAlex Information: showing works count and cited by count.
  3. Publisher Information: Indicating works count, cited by count, and country code.
  4. Topics: the topics covered by the journal.
